To become a member of the Australian Society of Magicians you are generally invited to come along to a couple of meetings first. During these visits you get a chance to decide if you really want to join, and the society has the opportunity to determine whether you are genuine or not. Membership is not open to everyone, just a casual interest is not sufficient.
Upon request you will be given an application form which basically covers Name, Telephone number, Home Address, Business Address, Nationality , Date of Birth, stage name(if any) and whether you are a professional magician, amateur, magic collector etc. An application fee must accompany the application, this will be refunded in the unlikely event that you are not accepted. Once accepted you will be required to pay your annual subscription pro rata to 1st January. Interstate and country members, unable to attend meetings regularly due to distance, have an annual subscription half that of the regular or normal subscription.
